Construction of the factory in India for VinFast to commence on February 25, in Thoothukudi. Last month, VinFast signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Tamil Nadu to set up a factory.
The company aims to invest US$ 500 million in the first phase of the integrated EV facility, has planned to introduce 2-3 electric SUVs in India, starting with the VF e34 crossover. According to the company, the new manufacturing facility will have an annual production capacity of up to 1,50,000 units. The factory will not only serve the Indian market but will also supply EVs to South Asian, Middle Eastern and African countries. It is expected to generate 3,000-3,500 job opportunities.
